Sri Sri Kancha Kanti Devi temple:
It is located 17 kms away on the way to airport from Silchar in Udharband. This temple is dedicated to the Goddess, who is widely known as powerful and that she is a union of Goddess Kali and Goddess Durga. According to legend, as commanded in dream, a king of the Kachari Dynasty built a four armed gold idol of the Goddess in 1806. The old temple is however, no more existent at the site. Instead, a new temple has been built up on that site.

Khaspur:
Khaspur is located around 20 kms from Silchar and has the ruins of the ancient capital of the Kachari kingdom. It was the capital of the Kachari Kings and the construction was completed in 1690 AD. This area is frequented by tourists all round the year. The main attractions of the ruins are The Lion Gate, The Sun Gate and old king temples. The ruins of the kingdom are of much historical significance. Though the original palace doesn’t exist now, the sub divisions like the main entrance gate, the Suryadwar, the Devalaya etc are still there. The entrances to the ruins are carved out in elephant patterns. The rulers of this kingdom belonged to the greater Bodo-Kachari ethnic group.

Maniharan Tunnel: This is a tunnel located 5 kms from the Bhubaneswar temple in Silchar. According to legends, this tunnel was used by Lord Krishna. The holy river Tribeni flows beneath the tunnel. Maniharan temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna and a temple worshipping Lord Rama, Lakshmana and Lord Hanuman is situated on the tunnel.

Martyrs Tomb at Gandhi Bag: It is situated on the banks of a lake and includes the 11 martyrs’ tomb at Gandhi Bag. These are the martyrs who laid their lives during the language movement in 1961. The language movement happened to make Bengali the official language of the Cachar district of Assam. There are 11 monumental pillars for 11 martyrs.

Bhubaneswar Temple: This temple is located on Bhuban hill. It is located in Bhuban Nagar about 37 kms away from Silchar. The presiding God and Goddess of this temple are Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati (Hara-Parvati).
